Question From: B. Felgar - Bronson, Michigan, United States
Q: Hollyhock roots -- I just received some hollyhock roots, and would like to know if I should plant them now (we've already had frost, and weather forecast is for temps in the low 30s for the next week), or can the roots be overwintered inside? What is the procedure if they can be overwintered inside?
A: I would pot them up in large containers and store them in an attached garage were they will stay cold but not freeze. Place a handful of ice cubes on the surface of the soil every few weeks to provide a but of moisture. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
