Question From: E. Nelson - Oakland charter Township, Michigan, United States
Q: Hi Nancy, I read your interesting article on shade foliage plants and was interested in where to find Copperleaf acalypha. I have a hillside garden with a 15 ft. cascading waterfall and with age it is getting very shaded. My sun loving plants are just dieing away as the shade increases. I like lots of color and the copperleaf sounds like a good candidate. Sounds like you are nearby referring to OPC where I belong. If you would like to drop in, I am near Adams and Orion on Paint Creek Drive.
A: I found the plant at Bordines and Tellys. It's a tender tropical and will not overwinter outside. I am in the OPC garden on Wednesday mornings, so come by and take a look. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
