Question From: F. Knapp - Utica, Michigan, United States
Q: Nancy, my wife has received hydrangea plants for Easter, Mother's Day, etc. After there usefulness in the house, I have planted outside. None of them have bloomed in the 3 or 4 years I have had them in the ground. Any ideas of how I can get them to bloom; or do I just dig them out and throw them away ????
A: These hydrangeas are florist varieties and not meant to be used in the landscape. Visit your independent garden center or nursery to find a hydrangea that will bloom. Do not choose an Endless Summer named variety. I've had good luck with Bloom Struck or any paniculata. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
