Question From: F. Nettell - Marquette, Michigan, United States
Q: I have several mountain ash one year old. They were 24 inch on planting. Three or four are now 6 or more feet. They are drooping from the heavy foliage. Should I support the trees. Thank you
A: Mother Nature does not use supports. Hopefully you have spaced them so they don't shade one another or steal nutrients. Over fertilization can also result in increased lush foliage. If you choose to support them do not truss them tight. The ability of the trunk to vibrate in the wind strengthens it. Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
