Question From: Babson Park, Florida, United States
Q: My Zinia transplants are dying. Stunted growth, brown spots on dry crackeling leaves. Flowers same thing. I don't think I will save them, but would like to know what is going on. Thought maybe to much water on them, but I'm thinking it goes way beyond that.
A: Your zinnias suffered from Alternaria blight. Here's a good website that fully explains what the disease is and how to deal with it. http://www.missouribotanicalgarden.org/gardens-gardening/your-garden/help-for-the-home-gardener/advice-tips-resources/pests-and-problems/diseases/fungal-spots/alternaria-blight.aspx Best And Happy Yardening, Nancy
